”Lurking in the bushes” Original Oil painting on 14” x 11” canvas board panelΒ Β – a bit of quirky art!
How to turn a boring Sunday into a bit of fun…grab a paintbrush, some oil paints, a small canvas panel..and, pick a subject! Luckily my garden stone statue was extremely good at keeping the pose π
What a wonderful and charming painting! The detail is amazing. π
Thank you for your lovely comments Jackie π Even though it is a simple subject, I do seem to have spent all day blending the stone tonally, which was actually very relaxing, then the fun part.. ‘splodging’ the bushes in π If I’d only done the bushes the painting would have been over in less than an hour…thank goodness for the little statue, otherwise the alternative was watching sport with Andy! Finished just in time to go and make dinner now π
Well done! Your timing was impeccable. π
π
An hour to do the bushes? I was just wondering how you could get them so realistic looking in just one day! Amazing!
Thank you so much for you lovely comment Sheila π LOL! I’ll admit …if you stand far enough away, they do look quite realistic π It’s just a matter of picking three oil colours for each bush and layering with blobs, maybe adding a bit more dark here and there π
Well, I think it’s brilliant and I have NO idea how you do it. I’m in awe of artists who paint. I have tried to paint many times, but failed miserably:(
Thank You π I think everybody CAN paint and draw, just not everybody has the same style and I think once people adapt to their own strengths.. beautiful creations ARE possible! Also over thinking a subject makes it much harder to paint – like my leaves…if your just think leaves curl and are pointy at the end, then I just twirl my brush to that thought π
so talented!
Thank you so much for you lovely comment π
Love this caren!
Thank you so much π ! He’s quite a fun quirky character – the perfect model too – he never moved a muscle π !
WOW I thought it was a photo at first, you certainly one very talented lady x
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Mrs. P π I have him sitting on my window ledge (next to the poppy painting) staring at me now…for about three weeks at least, until he dries out! I expect we will have some good chit chats over that time π
I don’t watch Game of Thrones …never seem to have the time, but if your little guy could summarise the plot so I can follow what my work colleges are on about I’d appreciate it, better still I’ll just tell them I know some one who knows a cast member LOL
LOL π
Brilliant. Another wonderful picture.
Thank you so much Bekki π
How beautiful is that! The way light catches the leaves is very beautiful π
Thank you so much for your lovely comments Irida π
