Peppy times two!

This painting is of my own Weimaraner, Peppy. Both the images are of him. I wanted to do a watercolour painting of him but couldn’t decide which image to use. In the end I combined both! Lovely image but scary thought – One Peppy is quite enough. As most Weimaraner owners would probably admit, they don’t think they are dogs, I actually do think He thinks he is human! Dave’s Dog!

This pastel pet portrait of our friend, Dave’s, Springer Spaniel was done from a photograph he let me borrow in order to add to my portfolio of animal pictures. The blanket is a creation of mine which I have added to a few of my pet portraits, making them I think, more distinctively mine. This is a portrait of a bitch from the same litter as My Peppy! With a face like that, looks like she certainly knows how to get what she wants! How could you not give in to that?!!!

This portrait was almost as hard to do as a black pet. He was so vividly red in colour on the photograph it was hard to see any definition. Thankfully he turned out just fine! A Very pleasing end result I think!

My puppy – Peppy

This was the first picture I did of our new puppy -Peppy, when he was about six months old. He is a very well pedigree d Weimaraner, with his sister in the same litter winning shows in Ireland and his mother, Posh also highly acclaimed as a champion dog. The pastel truly made this picture spring to life with a feeling of soft, short haired fuzziness. I was really happy with it and it has always been my most favourite pet portrait ever!

Two special pooches

 I did this pet portrait sadly after the pets had passed away and only had small sections of dogs on different photographs to work from. Meaning I had to compose the portrait as seen above. The portrait now has pride of place in my friend’s home where it instils fond memories
