Deb’s Dog

This dog has a liking for chunks of wood rather than soft toys! I was very pleased with the soft fuzzy pastel effect on the dogs face and head, it reminded me of my first dog, Sandy, a Golden Labrador I had as a child.

Molly

Whilst drawing this portrait of Molly I was quite aware that her face on the photograph is quite twisted, around the muzzle and forehead region, and I had to resist the temptation to ‘straighten’ her features. Firstly had I done so, it would therefore NOT have been a true representation of Molly, and secondly, THE very reason Molly was bought by her owners as a pup was the fact they felt drawn to her because of her slightly sad disposition in the features of her face. Not only were Molly’s owners pleased with the portrait, they were literally overcome with emotion as they think she is just perfect!
