Worcester College Ducks, Oxford University

For those who have browsed my LANDSCAPE SECTION, You may recognise this scene. In Landscapes it was done in soft pastels which gives it a real feeling of softness, This is the preliminary sketch for that artwork. The drawing was done from a photograph taken whilst visiting my Daughter, who was studying for her Master’s Degree at the time. The ducks at Worcester College are considered very important and are contained within the College Emblem.

Along the lane

Sometimes, we just carry on with our business and miss out on the scene around us, just because it is too familiar to everyday life. On a crisp and bright autumn day, I captured this beautiful scene, whilst going ‘along the lane’ to where my Mum lives. The whole image was just perfect to create this pastel drawing. Intense colours, reflective fishing lodge, ducks gently gliding on the pond and all framed by the almost bare trees.

Worcester College Oxford – Ducks.

One of my favourite pastel pictures ever. It was done after taking a photograph of the ducks at Worcester College on a visit to see my daughter where she was studying for her Master’s Degree.

My first handmade quilt

This is the very first quilt I made. In total I spend 5oo hours sewing by hand throughout the month of January of 2010. This being one of my first attempts at patchwork on a large scale. I loved doing it and am pleased to say it does get used to snuggle under whilst watching TV, when the nights are cold.
