Colourful Mountain Stream – Pen and Inks

This simple pen and ink illustration really came to life when I added the coloured inks. The colours I used gave it an Autumnal feel which is vividly contrasted by the blues of the stream. I think the best thing about this picture is the depth within the water given by adding varied amounts of the blue to create shadows from the little islands.

An Old Mill In Colour

Previously in Pen and Ink I featured a simple black and white sketch of the scene above. Wanting to take the illustration further I redid the scene coloured with vibrant inks. I was rather pleased with the result!

Footsteps in the sand

After “collaging” different sketches together to make this seascape scene, I decided instead of leaving it black and white, to play around again with my coloured inks. I was very pleased with the result, especially the almost translucency of the sea from building up layers of ink.

Edgworth Overspill

With a beautiful autumn scene captured on camera, I decided to take a new approach. Instead of using my favoured mediums of oil paint or pastel, I dug out of the cupboard a set of coloured inks. Wow! I was really happy with the vibrant landscape creation.
