This painting of a Local Scene is of a different angle to another post I have made in Landscapes, an oil painting called ‘Hidden Harwood’. The steps and tree in the centre of the picture are indeed the same. This is the only painting I have ever used acrylics for! Whilst the overall picture is okay, it is not the mediums I would have chosen. The church hall sat on the hill is where I meet with other artists. Their idea was for us all to paint the same scene as vividly as possible – in acrylics, which is what the majority there work in. It has got to be the fastest painting I have ever done, from initial sketch to completion in twenty minutes. Basically painted faster than the paint could dry!!!
