……Sloping stealthily, Sally Snail slithers steadily across the shallow sill……
…….suddenly, a soaring screech shatters the silence……
……..stunned, Sally shudders to a sudden stop……
…..she suckers securely for safety…..
……scared, she shrinks speedily into her shiny shell……
…..stifling snivels and sobs silently in the shadows…….
….struck by shock and showered in sadness……
…..as she recalls Simon, her sibling snail….
……snatched, by a sneaky Swallow in the Summer sunshine…….
A purely fictional moment of mad mumbling s …..inspired by a simple snail!
No snails were harmed in the making of this post!
OMGoodness I’d never thought about summer from Sally’s perspective before 😦
I know =-( trying to imagine what goes on under a shell..??…..
I’m thinking the bank holiday weather must have got to me..too much sun, perhaps LOL 😀
The very fact you could put the words ‘bank holiday & sun’ in the same sentence tells us cosmic forces are upon us LOL
LOL… I agree!! It must be nigh on 30+ years since we took that combination as a given!!!
30+ years ago I’m sure summers were always hot, we had snow every winter, and Easter, birthdays & Christmas were the magical of times …or was I just wearing rose tinted glasses ???
Well, I certainly remember the very same!! I wonder exactly when the rugs beneath our feet as well as the glasses came off??? You’d have thought we would have noticed, but, the transition must have been so subtle over those 30+ years that it’s scary to realise how far removed we are now from that idyll 😦
It certainly would be lovely to have those magical times back 😉
No doubt we will be saying the same about the times we live in now in a few years !!
Is it just me or does each year I get older fly pass quicker ?? I swear one of these years I get up in January have lunch in June & go to bed in December LOL
I think we just might LOL!
Nope, You and me both! I definitely get the same vibe…which is totally unfair!…. if you consider, that as we age, we slow down…. then, why the heck should we be catapulted to our end so much faster???
LOL, I think I have been doing the very same for a couple of years now…a year in a day…..at least that can justify why my overdraft is always ongoing… I seem to be continually buying for X-Mas!! LOL ;-D
I wonder why Christmas is such a pivotal point in our lives ?? from Autumn onward I feel like I’m on a perpetual countdown …. and for some reason I can’t even fathom when I cook the Christmas lunch I use every pot, pan, plate and the whole kitchen looks like Beirut, yet every other family get together I don’t make half so much carnage LOL
Me too !!! Now, whether it’s because it’s the one day of the year my Dearest traditionally does the washing up….(never having owned a dishwasher ~ he likes to treat me for the other 364 days I cook and wash up ;-/??!! …but, I don’t actually do it on purpose either, though… it’s good to know everything from my cupboards has had an airing and a good wash too 😉 LOL
LOL it very much sounds like you combine the Christmas lunch with a pot wash / cupboard spring clean ..cracking idea 🙂
After 29 super dooper Christmas dinners, you know…he has never questioned the six hour marathon wash up he does LOL 😉 And…an interim spring clean is always helpful!!
Aww bless him, no wonder he doesn’t entertain washing up the rest of the year LOL
I think we (me and Dearest have reached an equilibrium) As the main provider, I shall never ask more;-)
