Part Two of a little catch up………………………………………………………………………………. As any Patch Worker knows ~ Scraps Grow…unbelievably so!! Before you know it, you are swamped ….AND, can you throw them away???OMGoodness, NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Here I have a beautiful selection of some of my finest bits turned into useful little items for the table;-) Lovingly handmade fabric coasters and place mat sets at give away prices, ideal for little gifts

Perfectly purple!

Snapped up without a second thought!

Going green is the future…apparently……! To create from scratch would cost a fortune in buying such a selection of fabrics! LOTS of Time and effort to work out these creations ~ but much fun too!

A super set of six…..We all know what these colours represent…..right?! OK, on a whim, I delved into my Christmas fabric selection 😉 Should be a definate NO, NO at this time of the year, I know, BUT, What better time to start, as a lonesome crafter with a little on line shop, to stock up on Christmas creations?? ~ LOL…The height of Summer in the UK! This obviously leads on to more creative X-Mas wonders now, especially if you know me of old, SO, for catch up post no.3……Cracking on with Christmas Creations….! Watch this space………… ;-D
Especially love the green ones. Height of summer over there, eh? Lucky things. It’s feeling more like autumn over here.
Thanks so much Sarah!
LOL the Summer made a great effort on yesterday’s bank holiday, the best one I remember for years! Sorry to read that your seasons are changing so quickly, I’m sure we won’t be far behind….We wait so long for the nice weather and it always seems done before it’s started ;-/
I’m so glad you had a nice bank holiday. I have to admit we did have a nice day on Sunday. We went out on our first blackberry picking session of the year. I guess that’s what’s making it feel like autumn, also there is a definite chill in the morning air that wasn’t there a few weeks ago. I’ve got so many jobs left to do in the garden but it’s too soggy to do them. We often get reasonable weather in September though so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🙂
OOOO!! I loved it when we used to go blackberry picking with the children 🙂 Wimberries were also a firm fav of our family which we sourced late July/early August around the reservoirs, then we have a huge blackberry trail along the farmland just up the road!
It’s so very soggy here too, even given the few days of sun, the dewy mornings don’t seem to lift all day so apart from ‘cultivating weeds’ not much activity in our garden either!!
Hoping for a late Indian Summer 😉
Wimberries? I don’t think I’ve ever tasted one. Mother-in-law was reminiscing about bilberries after I told her about our blackberry picking session. I don’t think I’ve had one of those either. There must be so much great forage food out there that I’m missing out on. I’ve often toyed with the idea of foraging mushrooms but I’m too much of a coward. 🙂 We often have shaggy ink caps in our garden and they look soooo good but I’m too worried about poisoning myself to give them a try.
Sorry to hear it’s soggy over there too. We’re hoping for an Indian summer too.
How funny that your Mother-in-law should talk about Bilberries, they are pretty much the very same as Wimberries!! 😉 I think it is just a regional thing which gives them their different name?! They really are delicious, usually we never brought home enough to make a large pie as most were eaten as we picked LOL and we always came home with dark bluish purple tongues 😀
I think I’m with you about the bravery of trying out the garden mushrooms , you have to be so careful…!!
I will have to see if I can get mother-in-law to point them out to me. They sound good. 🙂
You have been a busy bee! These are so much fun! I love them. 😀
Thanks Jackie 🙂 I have been busy crafting away as and when I’ve had time, and, I’m always so happy that even the smallest of leftovers can be useful when put together 😉
I love the christmas design… it’s great to dram about christmas while melting away in this heat :O)
Thanks so much Easy 😉 It really does feel strange having so much Christmassy fabric and colours all over the place at this time of year though
Beautiful ~ I swear Moo & I saw every shade of your green ensemble on a mammoth walk around the Fens this morning 🙂
Glad to see you are still the schoolmarm of the scraps
Sounds like you and Moo are still enjoying the great summer countryside, only a few more weeks and things will be a changing in colour! After all those mammoth walks you must be as fit as a flea 😉
…I really must do something about those ever growing scraps, little projects like these are great but I think I will have to up the size to quilt level to make any kind of advancement on reducing the piles ;-/
The thought of a one of your scrap inspired projects up-scaled would be quite a challenge no doubt ~but consider the outcome ~ it would look sooo stunning, is there still a demand for bed runners me wonders ???
That is such a good idea!! Whether anyone would want one…??…who cares, after I get this X-mas lark out of my system I might just go down that route to shift the darn things 😀
With your talent as an artist I’m sure a series of patchwork collage cushions could also be on the agenda 🙂
With all your lovely ideas….I might have to forgo sleep for the next month or two lol 😉 Watch this space…..
I didn’t think you slept anyway LOL
You know, I have to admit to falling comatose every now and again..!!!! To prove it, I usually wake with a deep impression across my forehead….where I landed on the sewing machine LOL 😉
Hahahahaha on the rare occasions I nod off on the sofa poor K9 thinks I must have fallen into some sort of coma and licks my face to revive me …let me tell you being brought back to the land of the living via being covered in dog spit is NOT pleasant
Awww K9 to the rescue, or at least that’s his excuse…
You never know, that could be some anti-ageing spit LOL 😉
Ewww but do you think so ??? has to beat the snail slime I’ve read about LOL
YUK…Really??!!?? I shall have to google the snail slime, though I really don’t think I could ever go there ;-/..!!!
Much rather retrain Peppy to lick, his ‘kisses’ have only ever been a sniff to people’s faces which I taught him as a pup….though, maybe one day, any anti wrinkle/ageing application will do LOL
K9 will only lick my face if he thinks I’m in need of some sort of medical intervention ie I accidentally nodded off on the sofa,
Does beauty have a price ??? if snail slime is involved NO lol
LOL, YUK and EEEEWWWWW!!!!!If, given Snail sluck and dog saliva kisses are the only way to preserve youthful looks…I think I’ll stick with my wrinkles for now! Though I do preserve the right to change my mind!!! 😉
Hahahaha just think in 20 years or so I will be back to adding fractions to my age again … just like I did when I was 5 and three quarters
LOL That is hilarious!! by that reckoning I’m 49 and 348/365!!…but oh to be 5 3/4 again, I could have smarties and button tubes in those days and shiny Easter eggs lined up on the radiogram player…which I sometimes posted old pennies into, (and got a smack for being naughty) EEEE those were the good old days!!! Can’t wait for full regression to set in ;-D …maybe wouldn’t go down the posting of coins again though
In those days I had new Startrite sandals each Easter which I LOVED !!
OOOO!?? I remember getting Clarks Jesus sandals in the 70’s every Easter too, as well as having a new set of ‘Sunday clothes’, they were the comfiest footwear ever!!! Mind you we had the best of weather for them back then!
You mean the sun shone for more than one day at a time LOL
OMGoodness…rose tinted glasses on, OR, off the 70’s DID have eternal summer sunshine…I recall having brown legs with white patches where the sandals had straps!! These days…you’re more likely to get strap stain imprint ;-/!!
The blue one is my favourite :@)
:-@)
Fab use of scraps. You’ve got such a good eye for colour.
Thanks Bekki :-)…..definitely need to scale up …if I ever want to shift all my scraps 😉
