SUPER SQUEAL!!!!
Please…let me introduce You ALL to…..Wallis Russell, and, her little Lamb companion!:-D As Wallis and her Lamb came to greet me, it was obvious they were both quite nervous at first (not at all surprising after my excited super squeal!!), hiding somewhat in the shadows! They had travelled such a long way and probably knew not what to expect??! Of course, it was only natural for them both to be hesitant! I didn’t know anything about them either, But, I fell in love with them both instantly!! ……So, let me show you how our afternoon of getting to know one another went…. 😉
SUPER SQUEAL!!!!
Please…let me introduce You ALL to, Wallis Russell !
This afternoon saw the arrival of my Beautiful hand knitted gifted bunny from Mrs. P of the brilliant craftodessey !!! Not only, MY very own little bunny, but an unexpected extra surprise…Wallis has a little lamb too 😀
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL GIFTS ROMA!!!!!! xxxxx I’ve never owned anything so beautifully cute as this little pair!! 😀
Mrs. P insisted, that for a few little buttons I offered to send to her for future projects she was going to make me a bunny in return! Having seen many of her superb bunny creations, who was I to argue???LOL 😀 OOOOO!!! I’m sooo lucky, your knitting and details are amazing!!!!!! 🙂 I shall treasure them forever! xxx

Stepping slightly out of the Shadows, Wallis, tentatively leaned forward a little to say her name and handed me a little note, which had been sent along with her and Lamb. Before their arrival, I knew nothing about my surprise Bunny, not even what gender it would be?? So I was super excited to learn all about Wallis and her origins! 😀

Slowly, I took the letter from Wallis, so as not to make her any more nervous than she and Lamb already were, and motioned for them to make themselves comfortable, whilst I read the contents… Every now and then, I sneaked a peak at the super cute pair, slowly they began to relax. There is so much love between them – they look totally devoted to one another…It was so sweet to watch them!! 🙂

As the afternoon warmed up, I could see that Wallis was becoming uncomfortable indoors in her full outdoor travel wear, so suggested she may like to take off her shawl?? Wallis immediately agreed and folded it neatly then placed it on Lamb for safe keeping! At the same time, I finished reading, and neatly folded the lovely letter sent by Mrs.P ! 🙂
By now, I could see Wallis and Lamb were recovering from their long journey and asked if she would like to tell me all about herself or ask me any questions?

After Lamb had moved the shawl he returned and Wallis petted him tenderly for his help. Then she began to tell me about life in the Workhouse, where she had had to go after her father died! She beckoned for Lamb to hop on her lap 😉

Wallis explained how Lamb had become her best friend in the short time they had known one another! How cuddly and comforting he was all the time! 🙂

Wallis Russell, it turns out was the youngest of eight siblings, and though her father had taken over, along with her grandmother the upbringing of the family, on his passing too, there was only the Workhouse left as an option! Such a sad sad tale! Wallis stood to let me inspect her Best Workhouse attire, which had been lovingly hand crafted! Her little apron and skirts, were of the perfect length and everything about her was so neat and tidy and a real credit to Mrs. P who had gotten them ready for the trip up north!

As she was on her feet, I wondered if Wallis and Lamb would like to have a look around my workspace?? I knew already that they were just perfect for me and there was no way I could bare thought of ever having them not in my life, I had a new apprentices for my canvas and craft emporium :-D!!!! ……………Though, as yet, Wallis still had no certainties of what this trip would bring for her and Lamb!? Wallis sent Lamb off to retrieve her shawl….

With shawl on shoulder and Lamb close at heel, we commenced looking around Wallis’s and Lamb’s NEW HOME!!! 😉 I still hadn’t told them though…I wanted to make sure they were happy too??!!

Wallis walks around seemingly they are both feeling very much at home…so relaxed and happy, compared to just a short while ago when they arrived…I can’t wait to let them know my Good news for them both!!!

After a thorough exploration of what happens in and around my studio areas, I suggest we sit and have another little chat about the future..! Lamb has no hesitation of leaping back into Wallis’s lap for another cuddle and to listen some more!
😉

I ask Lamb and Wallis… ‘Would you both be happy to live here and help as apprentices in my studio in return for providing all you could ever need or want??”….
Wallis squealed even louder than I did when she first arrived and leapt into the air, (goodness knows how high little Lamb flew up, he completely missed being in the shot LOL)
With her arms reaching skywards, Wallis Squeals, ‘Yes we would!!!”
What an amazing afternoon, I have two beautiful hand knitted apprentices to chat and share secrets with…. and Wallis and Lamb have a new loving home where they will be treasured companions forever !!<3 ❤ ❤ ………………..I can’t thank you enough Mrs. P aka Roma xxxxxxxx
Very special, very jealous 🙂
I consider myself a very lucky lady 😉
OMGoodness Wallis is with you already !!! she only left the workhouse yesterday, the horse and trap must have really got a move on to get her to you.
Your story telling of how she is settling in is delightful and your photos WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! just delightful ❤
I can’t thank you enough for all the loving kindness you put into them to make them both for me!!!
I’m so happy that you like the post about meeting each other, and the pictures were great fun to do 😀
LOL….I’m thinking… we seem to have a super fast highway set up between our Posties 😉 either that or…there is some special hay they give to the trap ponies!!! 😀
The conversation at the post office yesterday was hilarious
Me – “Can I post this to Lancashire”
Her – “What is in the parcel ?”
Me – “A rabbit”
Her – “Oh God !!”
Me – “No !! no !! not a real one”
Her – “Oh thank goodness”
Although I did see her give the package a good squeeze before I left, so there is no wonder Wallis was a little dazed when she arrived at yours.
Perhaps she gave the Postie the order to get to yours ASAP just in case it was a real rabbit
You crack me up!!! My sides are aching from laughing…I can just picture the scene!!!!! LOL I wonder how many times Postmistress checked that parcel before it got picked up – I bet she did you know 😉
The look she gave me before I left – you would have thought I’d slaughtered her puppies !!
I’ll have to start using another post office …how much are you betting she’s married to the Postie who I run into all the time LOL
OMGoodness it could be plausible !!! Can you imagine the sequel book with the new contents, just from your one trip yesterday?? I should pay special attention to your Postie, just to gauge his reaction when passing you by ;-/ I was totally convinced that I should start my curtain twitching avidly tomorrow! So I missed the whole opportunity and was greeted instead with my surprise parcel at the foot of the door and Peppy standing guard eagerly over it 😀
There is no way I’m making eye contact with my Postie, he already thinks I’m a sandwich short of a picnic, now his possible wife is in on the action I’m keeping my head down..well until I’m strutting my stuff in my ‘Joseph Coat Of Many Colours’ I’m not sure if to go for shades of the same colour or just go wild 🙂
LOL Postie and Postmistress stresses, how will you cope in your small community?? I’m sure gossip is already rife!! They’ll have your story spread by waft of envelopes/franking machine at the very least – never mind using bongo drums!! I bet the nearest other PO is miles away from ‘The Tangled Backwoods”-but needs to be found soon ;-/
Oh how you can even consider shades of the same compared to running wild?? Just think of Bear… You NEED to be looking for supplies for BOTH!!! It’s a never know situation – ALWAYS Be Prepared LOL :-D…Grylls would be and I’m sure he would expect the same from you!!! After you pick yourself up from the swoon, get hitting those woolly websites;-)
I’ve been in a state of utter wool, yarn and pattern overload, I don’t even know why I want such a coat, I mean its not as if I could go to the post office incognito in such a garment !!
I doubt you could go anywhere, maybe apart from a Mardi Gras, in a jacket such as that 😉 But, don’t let that stop your drooling over wools, yarns and new patterns!! 😀
I’m sure Mardi Gras will be all the rage in ‘The Tangled Backwoods’ if I can come up with a creation such as I’d like 🙂
I should get some posters run off for the Village Hall 😉 no Village Lady will want to be without one of those jackets when they see you parading around The Green!!
I love it too… it has something of “the good old times” and they are so loveable :o) Bet Peppy loves them too :o)
Thanks Easy, It is so nostalgic of a bygone era, I just loved the little letter too, telling me all about Wallis and the Workhouse and her family circumstances!
Peppy has been admiring them as they sit atop my little cupboard ;-). He’s so used to me making things from him being a pup, he knows if it’s mine it’s off limits, not that he’s ever has taken anything in all his ten years 🙂
Hope you have a Great weekend!! 🙂
Oh, they are so lovely! I can just see them having cups of tea with you in your studio, you lucky lady you!
I am vary lucky indeed, not only cups of tea…Wallis and Lamb have been sitting for a couple of little portraits…more on that soon ;-)!!
