Lake District Bridge
Original Oil painting on 14” x 11” canvas panel.
Revisiting a scene I have done before, but this time instead of pen and ink, as I used to create the Wedding present for our Nephew and his wife, see below,

I thought I’d continue with my oils and see how it turned out – somewhat simplified from the first drawing, I do like the end result, especially just having used black and white ๐
A littleย black and white oil painting!
I must admit to having a soft spot for monochrome art, and I’m LOVING this x
Thank you so much Mrs. P :-)! I must admit to being so happy with it, I have already started another little monochrome landscape!! I reckon this and maybe two more paintings, then my ledges will be completely full of oil paintings drying …that can only mean one thing….back to sewing ;-D
Do you have viewing hours at the ‘Taylor School Of Fine Arts’ ?? if so I’ll gather up ‘The Village Ladies’ for an outing of cultural entertainment…you can put on a cream tea right ?????
LOL ๐ I’m sure it’s by appointment only…just to be sure it doesn’t coincide with stout times…. ๐
Goodness one wouldn’t want to interrupt your creative inspirational drinking time LOL
…..trouble is…..one just never knows when it might strike???!!!! LOL ๐
You don’t stick to the adage not till after 6pm ?? then again it’s always after 6 somewhere right LOL
Boy!!!!!! We’re definitely birds of a feather
;-)……do you keep a clock (batteries removed of course!!) to 6.05pm too? LOL
Doesn’t everyone LOL
๐
Beautiful! I love the new version. ๐
Thank you so much Jackie ๐
I am really pleased with it! I think sometimes revisiting a subject with fresh eyes and a different medium, gives it a whole new feel too ๐
I agree with that wholeheartedly! It’s the same for me with photos. Fresh eyes can make all the difference. ๐
They do! Also, I do enjoy comparing one subject in different mediums and, I must say the oil painting was much quicker to do than pen and ink!
I think you should revisit more older works and redo them. ๐
It’s funny you should say that…;-)…I actually started another black and white landscape, of the farm at Affetside, this afternoon. I thought it would be a huge leap to do it B&W in oils rather than all colourful as I did it in pastels. Hopefully, I’ll post it in a few days!
I look forward to it! ๐

Lovely bridge. Looks so full of potential where it may be leading.
I’ve often wondered where it leads to myself ???…. ๐
