Some people may wonder the point of chopping up bits of material…just to sew them back together again??! Here’s why I enjoy it so much!! Not to mention the fact that I delved into more of my button collection for this one as well…Oooo HAPPY DAYS !!!!! 😀 !!
Not content to make just one side pretty…I did the reverse in the same design too – oh, and then, a lovingly handmade interior pocket as well! Why not look good from every angle??

Just in case you think it’s the front again…check out the buttons…a couple are slightly different…all added to the hand stem stitched lines to give a little flower border effect!

All my patchwork quilted totes are fully lined, this one being no different, though a little extra time and effort was spent, lovingly making an interior patchwork multi pocket and following the theme of the tote bag, I added a few extra little buttons flowers as well – all looking very pretty against the printed blue and white cotton lining!
All in all, I reckon this is a brilliant, navy, blues and white ‘must have‘ Summer accessory 😉
Another beauty! I love how you make buttons into flowers. 🙂
😀 It seems the most obvious thing for me to do with them LOL…I had a person land on my site today their search was..”what to do with a button..’ ?? If they can;t find an answer after looking around my WP, then, I think I should retire 😉 !!
Nooooo don’t ever retire because of someone who is not creative enough to figure things out. If they can’t figure it out its on them not you! 😉
LOL….I don;t think I could ever give up creating…it would see me inside a straight jacket within a month 😉
Whew! Glad to hear it. I know what you mean too – I would be in the same state if I could not take photos. 🙂
I should imagine there are many others like us too 😉
I think you are right about that! 😀
I think this is my favourite one in a while! The blue tones are just lovely, so calming, so serious, yet elegant and playful with the button flowers. Gorgeous really 🙂
Thank you so much Irida :-D, it means a great deal to know people, especially those I consider friends, give me such lovely feedback and comments!
It was a lovely little project and I did enjoy sourcing the fabrics from my stash until I got just the right mix of how I wanted the finished piece to look…of course adding the button flower border was the icing on the cake for me 😉
Wow, just look at the blues brought to life in a bag, and a cute flower garden to boot, fantastic creation Mrs T
If you ever feel the need to try a straight jacket on for size I feel sure one of ‘The Village Ladies’ will lend you one of the men’s folk evening dress accessories
Thanking you most kindly Mrs. P for your lovely comment 😉 It would appear I am going through a sensible faze at the moment…probably something to do the the cycle of the moon and all that…don’t fret…I’m sure it won’t last LOL
Goodness your Village Ladies sound a strict bunch…keeping their menfolk so smartly dressed every evening…though I do wonder what would happen, should I borrow a piece of said clothing …. I’d hope the lender has an alternative set of clothing, so as not to be left compromised … 😀
