Have some offcuts from a previous projects..???…I seem to have this issue quite a lot π So, a quick shuffle around with a few colourful little cotton squares and some long strips resulted in a super tote/bag! Large enough for a beach tote bag, a casual overnight tote or just a trip to the shops, a beautiful bright accessory for all occasions !! π
And…there’s more!!! A handmade colourful quilted tote with TWO different Looks! AΒ reversible alternative pattern design on the other side!

And…a triple internal multi-pocket! Well it would have been a shame to leave out that last other little matching fabric square !! π
Right….now I’ve got that little pile of offcuts sorted..phew… I have chance to get back to my newest fabric collage creation!! π
You have been busy !!! I just love to see your creative mind at work, the jewel colours all work magnificently without vying for attention, another masterpiece of creativity π
You know I could probably spend the rest of my life making things out of all the little bits like that, without the need to ever buy fabric again……..There are Ohhhh Soooooo many now all in little bags waiting their turn!…..but, where’s the fun in that ??? – a girl just has to have fabric fixes every now and again (I’m easily pleased if that’s all it takes… LOL ) π
The joy with using all the little bits and pieces you have amasses means no two items are ever the same, which is the point of buying hand crafted items in the first place π I have the image of the little bags jostling with each other to claim your attention, sounds like the plot for a children,s story book LOL
I really do get over excited as soon as I get another new idea which is why I just can’t stop creating..does this make me a creation junkie… Hmm, I wonder??? π
LOL I really like your image of jostling vying bags!!! You’ve given me an idea…to name all the little bags, maybe I can then put them on a little register and work my way through alphabetically, a bit like my own pre school.. a classroom of little fabric sacks with personalities! I can tell already, just looking at the different selection, which will be a dream to work with…then those which will be more of a challenge…onto the more problematic group – perhaps I should invest in a recording device and narrate the story as I go π LOL Does this qualify me for having an authoress cap too??? Goodness, you really have set me off on one now..I don’t think I’ll have time to sleep tonight with all these jostling thoughts! I think a stout on the chaise is in order……;-)
LOL a creche for fabric what a wonderful story, a authoress cap well deserved me thinks π
Hope you have a clear head this morning to begin you trails and tribulations as a pre school Marm all the little scraps charging about, giggling and getting into mischief, you could even do your own illustrations, put me down for a copy Gelfling will love this bedtime adventure π
π Me thinks… I’d better starch my best apron, if I’m about to become a pre school Marm! I have a couple of days left on the project I’m on at the moment, but who knows… I could well be ringing the bell on this little adventure next π It certainly has exciting possibilities!!! I’m spurred on by knowing I have a prospective fan in the wings already too!!! LOL π
I love this more than I can say! β€
Thank you so much Jackie!! π I was thrilled how well it turned out! The colours work so well together as the border strips pick up on little bits of the same colours in the small squares! Making it a two design feature gives the new owner more options as well I feel, without any extra outlay π
The new owner (that’s me! Yay!) couldn’t be happier and she loves that it has options!
π
LOL!! And I couldn’t be happier it is soon to be winging its way to a loving home with you Jackie!! π Thank you so much!!
You are so welcome! I look forward to when it arrives. π
π Very soon I hope!!
No rush! I think that’s enough excitement for me today – gonna go put my feet up and relax. π
LOL π I hope you enjoy a relaxing evening Jackie!! As I said in my email to you before…first, more sunshine, then George coming home and, as if that wasn’t enough for the soul…icing on the day..a sale too! Your parcel is now loving wrapped and awaits being taken to the post office!! π
Looks just like stained glass – beautiful. Reversible too, is there no end to your creative genius???
Some might say …I have too much time on my hands…I just like to think…I’m leaving something beautiful behind as I move through life as far as I can π ! AND, Thank you sooo much for your lovely comment – I hope there won’t be for a while to come!! π
Absolutely beautiful. π I was going to say the first one looks like stained glass but sewchet beat me to it. π
Thanks so much Sarah LOL I don’t mind you saying it as well though π I was really happy it turned out just as I’d expected and once the border panels went on it seemed to work even better.I could have saved myself a lot of time making the back plain, but I really set out with a mission to use offcuts rather than slice up more large pieces! Oh and you’ll be pleased to know what I’ve been up to today…….a sheep collage π
I admire the way you can picture what you want in your head and then make it turn out exactly like that.
Can’t wait to see the new collage. π
I might have said before…..my head is a strange place LOL…but, it works well for me – most of the time. It’s funny, because lots of people have said that to me over the years, I always assume that everybody works the way I do, but they tend to say it’s not the case for them! The new one should be finished tomorrow, must confess it should have been today, but I got lazy and enjoyed some sunshine with a long tea break π
In our climate you can’t afford to waste the sunshine. π
When I’m crafting I tend to have a rough idea of what I’m going to do but I tend to make it up as I go along. Some of my artworks are planned quite thoroughly but even then they tend to evolve as I start to get stuck in. The end results are usually as much of a surprise to me as they are to everybody else! This all probably explains why I’m not so good at cooking. π
You’re not wrong there, it puts in so few appearances, I had to go bask outside for a while, plus it had made the conservatory unbearable anyway. Go at it and see projects are always exciting, I am like you in that way when I do abstracts and go with the flow not knowing what the result will be until I step back at the end.
LOL The upside of you thinking you’re not a good cook is that you have a hubby who will take over…so I shouldn’t worry too much, it means you don’t have to do all the cooking all of the time π
It’s certainly nice to let someone take over in the kitchen. He does a great job. π
He sounds amazing…maybe, you could hire him out ?? LOL π
π Heh heh. Nope, I’m keeping him all to myself. π
Now you’ve dashed my hopes of a night off from cooking LOL π
Well, maybe just for one night then. π
YAY…;-) I’ll check my diary and see which night is best :-D…LOL!!
