My newest design 🙂 an adorable Bunny quilt 61 x 46 inches of colourful fun perfect to snuggle under with
six SUPER soft little bunnies! Why bunnies you ask ??? – well, it could have been any number of different animals which I had drawn out as the pattern, but ever wanting to use fabric down to the last scrap if possible, I had some offcuts of super soft cotton wadding left over from my previous quilt and determined they would make the perfect fabric for fuzzy bunnies! After making templates for all the individual applique pieces I set about making each and everyone double thickness, then turned them inside out before blanket stitching them to the colourful panel I had made for each one…This way they can NEVER fray and will ensure they look just as good many, many, many years down the line! The same method was done for the bunny dresses and bows, which not only protects the fabric but also gives a lovely raised profile to the finished quilt

My only dilemma now I have completed this one….is….I now have more offcuts… ;-/ Hmmm…. wonder what I can make with those ??? 😉
That was quick! It’s adorable. 😀
🙂 Thanks Sarah! It would have been even quicker but for the lovely weekend in Wales and my camera not having a flash anymore 😦 I actually finished last night, so I was right on my deadline, even with two days off I still managed 156 hours over the two weeks. Thankfully I managed to grab a dry spell to get its final wash in early today and pegged out. I’m pleased to say it is now happily dry ironed and folded – all I have to do now is tidy and decide what’s next 😉
My goodness, I don’t know how you do it! You’re like one of those elves in the story about the shoemaker: all those neat little stitches appearing so fast. 😀
LOL 🙂 That was one of my favourite books when I was little, and, to be honest I do think about it quite a lot when I am sewing new projects and often wonder if I leave things out they will be miraculously completed overnight …no such luck as yet …maybe I should go and check my ears !!!!! :-D.
LOL that’s so sweet. 😀
😉
I love this quilt so much! It is adorable!! I agree with Sarah – you did this so quickly. I’m always so impressed with your talent. 😀
Thank you so much Jackie for your lovely comments and your wonderful support !!! It really was a joy to make, though I fear I am in an endless loop cycle of using fabric scraps then producing even more each time I make something 😉 What I really need are more hours in a day !
No doubt this will be winging its way to a new owner as a Christmas present shortly. Lovely, as ever:)
Thanks so much I’d like to hope so!…meanwhile, I’m now buried back in my scrap bags making a few smaller things for a change 😉
Beautiful ❤ ❤ ❤ I almost spat my juniper cordial out at a previous comment about the elves, now I know why you always wear a mop cap …..you have ' Dr Spock' ears don't you 🙂 🙂
LOL!!! I’ve been sussed ;-/ !!!!
