After showing an experimental imaginary bleach painting on WordPress.com last year I was asked by our family friend, Ronnie, if I would do a larger version for him. As everything art and craft wise became quite hectic in the run up to the holidays, I said it would be in the new year – and here it is as promised.
This painting was done on standard A3 black card, (double the size of the first one) using nothing more than a little brush, domestic bleach and water with a touch of imagination!
After having a preview of the larger version, Ronnie was ”Really pleased with it!” my Mum informed me and now it is in a glazed frame on its way to be hung in his apartment.
Thanks for your continuing support Ronnie! π (I know he reads my blog!!!)
I love this type of art! I really like the overall feel of this painting. It’s so charming and whimsical. Really well done! It’s amazing to me how you get so much detail with bleach and a brush. π
Thank You so much, that means an awful lot to me, I am really pleased you like them Jackie!
You know, even, I was amazed the first time I did it and I too love the results! I love waiting for the wet patches to dry to see what I have done, in a way it is mentally challenging for as soon as you wet black card it goes blacker so I am gauging the ratio of water to bleach making it more concentrated as I develop the scene, Though I do have to be careful as the picture is quite vertical on my easel, so I can gain perspective, but it does also mean I have to be quick and not let the very liquid y liquid run down over what I have done already. I can see these little bleach pictures becoming quite addictive to create,(and I definitely don’t mean from the fumes, for I have found they should only be done in cold temperatures with some ventilation – I certainly won’t do them again in the height of summer like the first one!
I’m so glad to hear that you are taking precautions against the fumes! I look forward to seeing more if these creations. π
Coming soon, I promise π
