Here’s something new! I thought I would try painting just with pure bleach on a brush over black card. This was the result – I had no idea where this was going and just went with the flow, obviously I only had one chance at this, bleach and black card are not favourable to mistakes!! Maybe it is something I will have as my new favourite thing to practice, though not too often,. as I did have a sore throat after this attempt from the bleach fumes in a sunny conservatory
Life seems so hectic at the moment, I just don’t seem to be able to catch up with myself, I am producing so many different things craft and art wise, for so many different events I have almost forgotten to put them on my Etsy site or Word press, I hope to catch up in the next few days. Christmas looming, craft event people phoning to book me, spontaneous new ideas, combined with me playing with new designs for the fabric I bought last week all means I have little or no time to sleep—-So much to do and create!!!!!!!! Goodness, help my hoover, when I eventually get around to tidying… NO forget that idea, that can definitely wait……anyways here’s the first attempt with bleach and black card – whatever you read into it!
I really like this a lot! It creates a very interesting effect. The title is perfect. Please be careful of those bleach fumes. Inhaling them is not very good for you.
I know what you mean, next time I will definitely wear a mask and have better ventilation, but I really do think it is something I want to experiment more with. It is so challenging especially if you get a small drop in the wrong place. it then has to become something or I have to start again keep watching for more new ideas
I think you should experiment more with it. I really like the end result. As far as making a mistake goes – I met an artist many years ago when I was still in city college that used to say “A mistake is just a chance to change directions. Follow the road and see where it takes you.” I always thought that was a cool way to look at it.
I look forward to seeing more. 😀
That is a brilliant way to think of a mistake, especially as that way, ‘You are never wrong’ in what you create 🙂 I will share whatever happens when I get around to the next one!
I have never heard of using bleach on a black card before but this is simply enchanting! Love the little gnome smoking a pipe. Sharon
Thank You so much Sharon as a first attempt I was really pleased with it there really are some strange things floating in my head sometimes and I just have to allow them out 🙂 and I loved doing it. It is something I want to experiment more with – when I find time between crafting for Christmas – I look forward to sharing the next ones soon.
This looks wonderful! I have a group of teenagers I take for art classes, I’m thinking that they might like to do this. Perhaps we’ll do it outside though!
I am very sure they will enjoy it Jennifer and absolutely outside is the best option as the fumes get quite strong after a while As its very much a ‘one shot’ with each drip or stroke from the brush it will help them become more inventive if something doesn’t quite happen right the first attempt. I hope you all have fun with it and hopefully we might get to see their bleach art on your blog too! 🙂
I have never tried bleach, and that is strange because I try everything! how did i miss this? Love your first piece of bleach art. and yes bleach will give you a sore throat.
I hope you enjoy the experimentation when you give it a go and I look forward to perhaps seeing your results. Now Christmas crafting is over for me I am planning to do more of this in the new year and add them to my Etsy shop depending on their successes of course 🙂
