This oil painting was done for my nephew and his wife for their Wedding present. It was ‘Their Bridge’ where he proposed to her. I first did them a picture in pen and ink (which is also on this site) but also wanted to try out a recent technique I had been using to paint in oils. Quite simply, I got a cereal box and ripped it into thin strips, squeezed out some oil paints onto a pallet, and painted! No brushes or pallet knives were used in the making of this picture! And the whole picture which is only approx 14″ x 10″ was done in less than two hours, though it did take almost three months to dry!!!
That is so romantic! And what a beautiful piece of art.
Thank You for your kind appreciation. Richard and Sarah (My Nephew and his wife) apparently just sat for hours looking at it when I gave it to them! They told me;’We will always have happy memories of “Our” bridge and now we can look at it everyday!’
