Meg the mutt – which I called her affectionately – Sadly she died unexpectedly a few months after I did this portrait of her! I was told by the commissioner that it was the best thing he had ever had done for his Mother because of this fact. She was a lovely to draw.
A pastel drawing done for a friend of my daughter. I was very pleased with the techniques I achieved by hammering the pastel as it gave just the desired effect of fluffiness and a very true likeness of Meg. See below!

I read your tribute to Tom Dog today with a lump in my throat and tears streaming down my face, as it took me back to when I lost my first dog Sandy. Only a dog owner can know that feeling. I am so sorry for your loss.
